Spoken Word Artist, Comedian, Satirist
Clive Oseman is a Swindon based Brummie spoken word artist, comedian, satirist and promoter. His third poetry collection “It Could Be Verse” was published by Black Eyes Publishing in 2020 and his fourth is imminent.
He is a multi slam winning poet who has headlined poetry events around the UK and is now also headlining and featuring at comedy events.
His debut one man show “Getting To Know Elizabeth,” a satirical look at the life of the Queen, was well received but is being rewritten following the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh. His second show, “What If They Laugh At Me?” a humorous look at the life of a comedian/poet battling to overcome a life long lack of self confidence (so not at all autobiographical, oh no!) will be hitting the road in October 2021.
In the world of Zoom he has headlined internationally and won an international slam, and is booked for a real world gig in Nashville, Tennessee in July 2022.
Most of his material these days is humorous, and often experimental, though he does surprise by occasionally being serious.
He is co host (with Nick Lovell) of Oooh Beehive, a monthly spoken word night in Swindon which was long listed for best regular spoken word event at the Saboteur Awards 2021. Oooh Beehive has an extensive online presence, running events with top notch headliners from around the world, a UK online slam (co hosted by Nick Lovell and Chloe Jacquet), global slams and occasional one off events such as comedy specials, or fundraisers.
